Some shops even open all day and night. You can get a meal or groceries at any time of the night. I think the young people are happy here because there are several nightclubs and night live is very active. If clubs are not your thing (it’s not mine) you can have a coffee and prata (dough based indian pancake served with fish curry) for supper at a 24 hour coffee shop. The buses and subway system run till midnight, and after that you won’t be stranded, because you can flag down a taxi at any time of the night.
I didn’t appreciate this until I travelled and realized I had to buy groceries by 5pm or the shops would all be closed. Getting a cab was also hard after a certain time.
