#24. It’s Safe to Walk the Streets at Night

The feelings of being safe here, I take for granted, till I venture elsewhere and realize how good I have it back home. I am glad that gun ownership is not allowed. It think that is by far one of the best things about Singapore. The crime rate is low and hardly will you ever spot any form of disorderly conduct or violence. It’s mainly due to all the fines and severe penalties, but if it keeps us safe, I can live with it.

I think the city also feels safe, because you are hardly isolated with our millions of people. Since the city does not sleep, with many food and shopping outlets like bargain shopping centre Mustafa in little India, which is open 24/7, the night hardly gets lonely.

I think it’s wonderful that we made it to #9 of the top 10 safest countries in the world led by Cyprus, Denmark and Iceland.
