Trip Down Memory Lane: Old Singapore

Amazing glimpse of Singapore in 1960. We were not so clean or sterile then. I love the old woman at the end, who seems full of spunk.

I just love the song accompanying the old 70’s Singapore Airline’s Television Ad. The Singapore Girl sure was the epitomy of grace and elegance.

Opening for the News in English, from 1988. I can’t believe 1988 seems so vintage.

I will leave you with a bit of new Singapore as a contrast. The video below will make you feel like you’re right here and you don’t have to spend any money on a plane ticket.

This video may make you a little dizzy as it’s taken from a bike. This is pretty amazing. Mr Hans from Stuttgart Germany who has called Singapore his home base for 40 years captures Singapore in September 2009, as he drives towards China Town. Fifty years from now, this will be wonderful vintage footage.

It makes me think, all our blogs will be vintage too!! Hopefully WordPress doesn’t decide to delete old blogs to make room for the new.

I love looking at old Singapore.I think I’ve said before that I hope a time machine will be invented in our life time and travel back in time made economically and physically possible!
