The Sunrise and Why I Didn’t Fancy ‘Inception’

I love seeing the morning sky. The mornings always make me feel more hopeful than the nights. My nights are filled with anxiety and a sense of unfulfillment that ironically make me too wound up and tense, to sleep. When I do go to bed there are a millions things streaming through my mind and am unable to fall asleep. Otherwise I have nightmares and can remember every single detail.

My cousin’s theory is that I am not getting past REM (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep, and wake up directly from my dreams and that’s why I recall my dreams so vividly. If you go into deep sleep your dreams become a haze. I hope for just one night of good quality sleep with no dreams at all. MAJOR SPOILER ALERT!! DON’T READ THIS if you haven’t watched the movie Inception: Perhaps that may have been one of the reasons why I seem to be the only person around who didn’t like the movie Inception – I could not suspend my disbelief about certain parts of the plot as well and the parts about storing memories about loved ones were too close to home. If you’re claustrophobic it’s not a good idea to watch the movie. I was closing my eyes through quite a bit of it like scenes where the car was submerged in water – my ultimate nightmare. Also the girl whom I love in Juno and the boy whom I loved in 3rd Rock from the Sun and that little romantic comedy were wasted in their roles. Ellen Page was terribly dull and Joseph Gordon Levitt just didn’t seem to fit in this movie, while he was charmingly perfect in 500 Days of Summer. I even found Marion Collitard who was stunning in ‘A Good Year’, annoying in Inception. I am sure a lot of people are gonna be mad at me for these negative comments. The best Leonardo De Caprio movie for me was ‘Catch Me If You Can’, where I found his performance charming and moving. Maybe he’s lost a bit of that fresh-faced charm. Also the relationships in this movie didn’t seem fully developed enough to make me root for them. I did think Cillian Murphy and Tom Hardy were the bright sparks in this movie. I do apologize if you’re a fan. Just expressing what I thought of it, considering I don’t really go for Thrillers and didn’t even like or fully comprehend ‘The Matrix’. I am more an Art movie kind of gal.

Anyway I wish I could wake up before 6am every day because I don’t want to waste a moment of the more hopeful part of the day. I was so glad to see the sunlight peeping through the beautiful little cloud filled sky today. In the morning even the air smells fresher. Nature renews itself as the morning dew cleans the air, and this manifests a sense of all things possible in our psyche.

I like the photos of the sky I took this morning. The sun rose at 7.05am and will set at 7.15pm. We generally have 12 hours of daylight all year round. Europe and the USA are experiencing the longer days of summer now. You can check out the sunrise and sunsets times in your own country with this sunrise sunset calendar.

thanks for your comment… I didn’t read this post of yours because I haven’t seen inception yet (and really want to see it!). Thanks for the spoiler alert hehe.

I don’t use pancake mix, I always make pancakes or pikelets from scratch as they are very simple to make! here is a recipe that is pretty close to the one I used:

Controlling the temperature is the most important part, you want the heat on medium, not so high that they burn before the bubbles on the surface pop.

    Good luck 🙂

haha thank you and no worries! I finally got to see Inception and I loved it (I really love those weird kind of movies though that leave you thinking heaps). I like Leo playing the strange/crazy role. it really suits him i think!

I haven’t woken from a vivid dream in ages! But I can imagine how frustrating it would be not sleeping properly. When I have things on my mind, I keep a notepad beside the bed so I can write down anything that is troubling me/going around in my head – then when it is out I can normally sleep. Maybe that might work for you?

Thanks Jazzie…i should just try that. If only my vivid dreams made more sense…then i could write them all down and create a screenplay..hehehe. But I dream nightmarish disjointed nonsense. Glad you enjoyed the movie 🙂
