Cheapest Parking in Singapore – Sundays

Recently I scoffed at headlines that parking in Singapore is cheap, as we came out #50 on a global list at US$21.53 per day. I guess it’s all relative depending on your earning power. Anyway the most expensive place in the world to park, is London at US$933 monthly and the cheapest is Chennai at US$0.96 monthly, but you have to also take into consideration the quality of living, so I am not too surprised. It’s no wonder our friends in London take the tube or bus instead, but they say it’s due to the standstill traffic.

We are always in search of the cheapest parking rates. Of course free parking would be best. You can find all the rates at One Motoring, but I thought it would be good to highlight some of the more prominent malls and places with cheaper parking rates, that I like. These are for Sunday and public holidays:

Free:
Robertson Walk – Free ($3 on public holidays)
Mustafa Centre
Greenwood Avenue
Serangoon Gardens
Ikea Tampines – Free from 7am to 11pm
Jelita Cold Storage – First hour free, & after that it’s $1.60 per hour

Below $3:
Great Eastern Centre – $2 per entry
Square 2 – $2 per entry (till 7pm)
Harbourfront Centre – $2.04 per entry
Asian Civilisations Museum – $2.06 per entry
Central – $2.50 per entry
TripleOne Somerset – $2.50 for first 3 hours

Below $3.50:
China Square Central – $3 per entry

Merchant Square – $3 per entry
Icon Village – $3 per entry
Liang Court – $3.21 per entry

Below: $4
Tanglin Mall – $3.50 per entry
The Cathay – $1.20/hour
Far East Plaza – $3.53 for first 3 hours
Wisma Atria – $3.50 for first 2 hours

SG Car Mart is another great interactive source for parking rates.
