SilkAir: Great Food, Rude Service

The meals on SilkAir were surprisingly good, especially the Chicken Briyani on the flight back from Cochin. It looks bad, but tasted good. The white vermicelli payasam dessert (made with milk and ghee) was great and not too sweet either. Who would have thought – tasty airplane food! I can’t say the same for the service, especially on the night flight back from Cochin which was rude and abrupt, especially in contrast to the genuinely warm service we experienced by the people at the Taj in Cochin. When the SilkAir crew said hello and goodbye their faces were turned away and it looked like they couldn’t wait to be rid of all the passengers.

For some reason, I’ve never really encountered a bad airline meals like how some people describe them. In fact, I look forward to meal times and have mostly enjoyed the food! Yeah I do agree that SIA and Silkair service is not as good as hyped to be.

I find SIA service better than Silkair but I guess it depends on your luck. In Business Class which my friends takes for business travel, the service is much better. That is so unfair. I think courtesy should not be something we need to pay for! Just because we are in cattle class, you don’t need to treat us like cattle!
