Only when I returned from Japan did I appreciate the smoke free comfort that I enjoy in Singapore. Being in an Osaka restaurant, or cafe was like being on the set of Mad Men where everyone was chain smoking. No choking on smoky stale air conditioned air. No irritated scratchy throats. No second hand smoke to suffer from.
For your smoking fines and hefty tobacco taxes, I love you Singapore. I may desire the voice of the opposition to be given more weight in Singapore for a truer democracy, but I do appreciate it when the present administration is super efficient and gets it right.
I totally appreciate Smoke Free Singapore. I think smokers should have absolute no rights at all if they are infringing on non-smokers rights to fresh air.
I truly value my right to clean fresh air too. Get quite frustrated during our hazy months when the forests are cleared in Indonesia, which seems a harder problem for the governments to solve.
