Browsing the Shelves at Meidi-ya and Kinokuniya Feels Like Being in Japan

Going to Osaka recently has confirmed to me that Singapore already has authentic Japanese groceries at our very own supermarket at Liang Court. Even though the prices are high as the goods are air flown from Japan, it’s lovely to browse the shelves and occasionally pick up something.

The Kinokuniya store at Liang Court also features the kawaii stuff that I saw in Osaka. It’s wonderful that we have a Japanese community in Singapore that demands authentic produce and we get to enjoy it too.

More beautiful red packaging. Looks like works of art to me.

Don’t get me started on how good the fresh produce looks. Once again, just like what I saw in Osaka.

Oh the green of the perfectly formed chillies. Breathtaking.

Aren’t these the most stunning apples ever?

Oh my favourite place in the world. A Japanese bookstore with English books. If only they came in Japanese quality, then I would be in heaven. I have a weird fetish when it comes to books and stationary.

Rilakkuma is big in Japan, especially among the young ladies. The name of this cute character literally means relax bear.

You have to hand it to the Japanese, they sure know how to make everything look beautiful! The packaging itself is irresistable, never mind the contents!

Yeah! And at Daiso, they have all sorts of interesting stuff as well!
