The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands (Part 1)

I haven’t been to the Marina Bay Sands resort in a while. The last time I came most of the shopping area was under construction. I thought that the construction would be over by now, but it’s still going on. I think this is the epitomy of the Singapore mall and I was very impressed. It seems to combine the vastness of Vivocity and the sophistication of ION. There are actually dining places and shops I have never seen before. There were also tons of luxury shops I would be too intimidated to step into, but it’s nice to look at their window displays. I guess they go for the high rollers and their spouses.

They were building a rolling skating rink and there was also a very upscale looking Food Court around it with the intriguing name Rasapura Masters.  I wonder if this is to cater to Indonesia clientelle.

There was a clothing store called ‘The Black Sheep’. I can relate, and I wonder if all the clothes come in black.

Another unique store. The pink attracted me.

There seems to be several restaurants by celebrity chefs here. It would be interesting if Gordon Ramsey came here.

A glimpse into the Wolfgang Puck restaurant, Cut.

An upscale French restaurant.

I noticed a Cold Storage supermarket here too.

The Hermes store had an interesting but pretty fake snow display (styrofoam was blown around).

View of the Wolfgang Puck restaurant from across the very wide shopping area which is divided by an artificial ‘canal’ below where you’d be able to take Sampan rides, but it doesn’t look ready yet. Or perhaps I missed it.

Serphora which is a French toiletries store which first opened at ION Orchard. I haven’t shopped here before, but my cousin likes this place.

The area at the first level, where the Three Belles Performance took place.

Sephora is on the same level, if you want to catch the performance and need to get your bearings in this huge place.

It also took place where the Lion King display is and right in front of the True Religion store. A jeans store made famous by celebrities who liked their jeans.

This post is getting too long so I’ll continue the walk around the Shoppes in my next post.

Sephora is actually just a giant makeup/perfume store. They don’t carry French Brands exclusively. If you like to play with makeup, it’s a mecca. I’ve been a fan since 2000, when I first saw one in Aix-En-Provence, France. They’ve been in the US since 2001 or at least my part of the US, and are my go-to store if I need make-up (which I tend not to wear much anymore with the humidity and sweating in Singapore).

My cousin really loves this place. I first thought it originated in the US, till I was corrected. Seems more American than French. Yeah….the humidity is quite a killer here. It makes me always feel so tired.
