Books and Bites at 313 Somerset

313 Somerset is definitely an improvement on the Specialist Shopping Centre that used to occupy this space. The best part is that the Somerset MRT is linked to the mall. No more getting wet in the rain. The one shop I like here is the Harris Bookstore and they had a storewide 20% discount, including Moleskins. Out of the food places, the Food Republic is not too shabby with loads of natural light flooding in and if you’re hankering for local Singapore food.

Now there’s a place where fish feed on your feet. Well actually the dead skin cells on your feet. I tried this once in KL and was too squeamish to get my feet in fully. When I finally did, the half an hour session was over. Feels quite yucky, slimy and ticklish. That’s how I remember it. I don’t think it really works unless you do it every day and who has time and money for that.

Food Republic is definitely my top pick for air-conditioned food courts.
