Chinese New Year 2011: Raffles City Shopping Centre

I used to love the Starbucks at this mall as it was cosy and located just where you got off the escalator, from City Hall MRT. It’s now been modified and no longer air-conditioned. It looks a bit too cramped and squeezy as more tables have been added. It’s also really crowded.

Came here expecting to feel the Chinese New Year vibe, but it was pretty low-key as I think we were too late and missed the dance troops from China. Here are the photos of the lovely mall decorations. So far, as expected, Chinatown is the liveliest place for the New Year so I would say head down there at least once if you haven’t.

Raffles City, I miss you! Only one month away and Star Bucks has been changed??

I haven’t been here in quite a while, but it really looked different from what I was used to. The Starbucks next to Wheelock place also changed it’s design for the worse. Why??? Don’t like the open concept and prefer cosiness.

I love the decoration. And I’m sorry about the Starbucks. I love how they’re shops are comfortable and peaceful. I often go to Starbucks to read and write.

I find it funny that their slogan is “spring in the city” when it pretty much feels like summer all year round in Singapore.

I just realized that Chinese New Year is also known as Spring festival..but yeah in Singapore…it’s perpetual Summer. Although right now….it’s crazy weather…but rainy and cool!
