So far this is my absolute top choice for briyani. A hot and stuffy area at Tekka Market in Little India. It’s totally worth enduring the heat. Most people go for the famous Alauddin, but I prefer Yakader. The rice is soaked with the delicious gravy and you can eat it on its own with a bit of thalchar (dhall curry that specially goes with briyani) and it’s just so yummy. S$4.50 for a very filling meal. You could probably have a light dinner after this heavy lunch.
The Teh Alia (ginger tea) at the store next door goes well with this meal.
Run by a nice elderly uncle. The bandung looks super tempting. Love all those colours.
Luckily there was no a very long queue as we were early and beat the lunch-time crowd.
Just some photos of Tekka Market Food Court which has some of the best food selections.
The Travelling Hungry Boy likes this place too. Read his food review here.
I blogged about Yakader last September too.
That nasi briyani looks yummy and I am craving for one
I’m getting hungry all over again 😉
