Borders at Parkway Parade: Greeting Cards

So pretty.

But a nice card with an attractive picture and a meaningful verse within, which used to cost about S$3 now costs at least about S$6.

Greeting cards are hard to come by here and expensive. We’ve more or less just dropped the habit of giving them in the past year.

when I travelled to Australia and the US I found that beautiful stationary was soo cheap. It kinda shocked me. There are some things in Singapore that are just so expensive and maybe the prices are just marked up by a lot.

here a pretty calendar would cost S$20 while a similar one in Australia cost me just S$5.

I hear you! (reading your comment) Same in Jakarta. Cards are way too expensive because many of them are imported probably. I find cards in the States are much cheaper than here. I find cards in Japan sometimes cheap, too. You can actually find very decent and pretty cards at a 100 yen store ($1 store), too. I can’t believe now the cards are $6. They used to be so cheap when I was in Singapore like ages ago….

I used to get number type cards for each birthday till I was about 10 I think…..always looked forward to it. I love sending cards but now I find them beyond my budget. I must try to find some at Daiso.
