There was just so much to take in that day and it made it worth the S$2.
You’ll be thrilled by the very local toys we used to play during recess. Some I can even make today just from rubber band knotted together. Anyone else recall jumping over the rope and playing zero point? How high could you jump without touching the rope? That was the aim of the game.
The suitcase like school bags we used to lug around were so cool.
You can also buy some old fashioned toys, including a gasing (traditional Malay top) for S$2. My aunt was asking me about it and at the time I didn’t even know what Gasing meant. There was a pretty huge one on display but not for sale.
We used to play snakes and ladders all the time, as children.
More old Singapore toys you can buy.
A Vespa. Would have loved to see one in pink.
An old fashioned sink too.
So interesting! I recognize a lot of those toys!
it’s so nice that most of the toys are universal 🙂
