There’s always something to see at Little India. I would definitely recommend that you come here if you’ve never been to Asia and are on a stop-over flight. Just spend an hour walking along the little streets. And bring your camera. I saw many satisfied tourists armed with their DSLRs here. Even as a local, I like coming here and soaking in the atmosphere. It’s so different from Orchard Road. No muted tones here – just an amazing riot of colours. Everything here is so much more down to earth – and easier on your pocket.
Don’t forget the hole in the wall, magazine stalls where you can get Femina (magazine for women published in India)
Several affordable hostels for backpackers, like this one.
There were posters about the weekend food festival.
I love Little India most days. Sometimes it’s just overwhelming, though.
