Jalebi: North Indian dessert, with Persian origins. Deep fried flour with ghee, sugar, rose water and saffron.
I searched the web and the calorie count for this dessert is listed as just 250. That’s about the calorie count for a Subway cookie. I find that really hard to believe though. I was expecting it to be a whole lot more, considering that it’s deep fried and dunked in sugar.
Kesari: South Indian, dessert made with semolina, sugar, ghee, raisins and cashews. Cardamom and rose essence is added too.
The calorie count for this sweet was listed as 500. I think it’s best if this sweet is cut into tiny pieces to share. Then it won’t be so sinful.
I so love visiting your blog. I feel like I go on a mini vacation every time I stop by WITHOUT the calories. ha ha ha!

Thanks Julie….blogging makes me feel like I am on vacation in my own country. But the calories can be a problem 😉
If you eat a Jelebi on Diwali it has no calories…so says my Mother in Law
