There is a searing review of Jerry’s BBQ and Grill at Singapore Uncensored. I found the place clean and not that bad, but I must agree that when we first entered the place we were faced with rudeness and told that it’s not open till noon by the waitress – “Not Open – After 12” is that she said. I guess it’s not what you say, but how you say it? The better approach would have been to ask the potential customers to have a seat or not to use that sullen tone? Some people may not have returned. I however found the female manager of the place to be a whole lot more polite so that was a saving grace. I think there is a problem when service charge of 10% is imposed and I suspect none of it goes to the wait staff so there’s no motivation. This is the system in Singapore and I think it needs to be changed. I have been to restaurants in Singapore like Jules Cafe Bar where you tip what you will and the service is excellent.
I’ve had better pulled pork burgers at the Burger Shack, but B thought that these burgers may be more authentic with a lot more meat in them. I guess I like my pulled pork moist and soaked in barbeque sauce. The place was relatively empty when we were there and I found out that they have another branch in Jalan Kayu. Would love for one of my American expat blogger buddies to try the place and give me their verdict. They would know better how authentic the food is.
Maybe I should have gone with the fiery wings – they look so divine on this Singapore foodie’s blog.
The place has a laid back vibe which is nice. And that’s what I like about the whole Club Street, Ann Siang Hill area.

The casual dining restaurant is at 92 Club Street and I wonder if the flagship store established in 1994 at 277 Jalan Kayu has better service. The cost of the meal came up to S$41 with a pulled pork sandwich costing S$15 after taxes.
I know they had the longest line at the American 4th of July event. I had to give up because I was too hungry to wait in the line, but everyone was raving about them.
Having said that, the pulled pork in the picture is done wrong…should be bbq sauce soaked.
As soon as I have a good day, I’ll be in line there and will review. BBQ is my favorite style of American food and I’m deeply attached to it.
yeah I thought it was a bit dry…BBQ soaked sounds a whole lot better.
