Butterfly Cake: 75th Birthday Celebration

My Aunty baked a cake for my other Aunty for her 75th Birthday party. It was a carrot cake with loads of icing which I love.  My cousin helped to paint the marzipan butterflies which were made by my aunt using a mould. I think that they are both so artistic and I love that they do these creative things all the time.

Life is enhanced when we focus on beautiful things and art – during those times the anxieties of everyday life melt away. For me at least.

My photos don’t do the cake or edible butterflies any justice. The lighting was florescent and since it was night-time we didn’t have the magical natural light which makes all photos look so much better.

We had warm and fuzzy family time today with lots of corny jokes, gossip and hokkien mee.

I can’t help but be weighed down by worries and constantly living in the past or future…..but art and just pretty things somehow bring you into the moment.

Thanks so much for your kind words plumerainbow 🙂
