No Monkey King? Fine $88888?

Spotted this weird sign at Kampong Glam, and I was so absolutely tickled and intrigued by it.

I just checked out the website. The person behind the marketing effort is a Japanese rapper who calls himself Monkey King and raps in English and hopes to take Asia by storm. Very cool marketing indeed. At first I thought it might be some kind of gambling site since there were so many lucky 8’s in the sign.

This is so cool, love it! I like how he has tapped into the idea of the fine signs that you see all around – very clever.

I really thought that it was a fine for gambling when I saw it from a distance. It looks exactly like the usual fine signs you see everywhere.

Looks like a good way to blend in with the streets, making it look like a fine sign. Pretty risky marketing campagn from this guy! 😀
