Common Sight in Singapore

One of the grouses of motorists – the constant construction that causes traffic jams. But we rejoice when roads are newly tarred or when the new highways or MRTs are up.

As a kid I used to be fascinated by these cement trucks with the rotating drums. They never failed to look magical to me. Cement as well. I always dreamt about playing with cement, mixing and spreading it. Looked like so much fun. Now I know how much back breaking work and skill that takes.  Also I feel bad for the people who have to work in the scorching sun.

The constant construction is annoying, but I love the new subways stops, clean roads, etc.

I always feel bad for the construction workers too.
