Wimbly Lu. Sounds like a character from a Roald Dahl book, but it’s actually a combination of the owners’ names.
Yet another gem of a place, recently discovered, all because of my favourite 2 dollar local magazine, 8 Days. It’s sandwiched somewhere between Serangoon and Braddell within a housing estate and they specialize in chocolate. I love ulu places. It’s pretty close to the Nex Shopping Mall. You can’t miss it. Look out for the red and cream Beetle.
The estate.
The cool Beetle.
I just love the ornate logo. I can imagine the work that must have gone into this.
Just adored the Halloween Decorations that were up in this beautifully decorated cafe.
The features that stood out included the warm lights, the sky light and the exposed brick walls.
The furniture was not matchy matchy and there were many vintage pieces. That was nice. Some of the old style furniture we even have in our home, so definitely made the place feel even more homey. The service was warm and what I loved best – totally unpretentious.
The flourless orange cake was very moist, chocolate cake tasted like it was filled with actual melted chocolate. We actually preferred the orange cake, perhaps as it was lighter. The fresh cream – definitely not from a can, went so well with the cake.
And what was famed to be Prince William’s favourite dessert, the Eton Mess was our favourite with the sourness of the cranberries and the sweetness of the meringe and fresh cream. Really good stuff. No wonder he had this served at his Royal Wedding.
The Cafe Latte was nice although I preferred it a bit stronger. These days I really like a strong espresso base and I love seeing that magic golden crema.
Here are some reviews of the place:

What a cool find… Doesn’t look like it belonged in Singapore.. hehe
yeah the shape of the skyroof reminded me of a hotel in NYC.
Your post alone is enough to pique my interest, will certainly check it out!
Reminded me of the Halloween decorations when I visited Osaka….more on the cute rather than scary side.
Adorable…we’ll need to check them out!
The place seems kid friendly as there were a number of children hanging out at Jalan Riang. The restaurant next door too (Jules).
