Singapore Botanic Gardens: Most Serene Place in the City (Part 3 of 4)

We were heading towards the Halia Cafe and noticed that this was where the entrance to the National Orchid Garden was located. I was absolutely fascinated by this female tourist who was wearing ‘Sex and the City’ heels. I marveled at how she navigated the soft green. I would have totally fallen flat on my face.

This is really a wonderful place to photograph and I saw people having the elusive picnic, that I previously thought not many people did, in our heat.

Glad there were some people in the photo, just to give perspective on how tall those old palms were.

I could feel warm droplets of convectional rain by then. But it was just threatening to rain, and the rain just refused to pour down. I would have loved to come here after the rain. I can already imagine the fresh scent of wet leaves.

I had no idea that Heliconias were related to Gingers and Bananas, but that does make sense, based on how the plants look.

Loved this old style lamps that were everywhere, making me want to come back in the evening to see them all lit up. The park would take on a magical quality then.

I then came across the most wonderful sculpture of a pianist and his beautiful page turner.

Could not resist, several shots from different angles.

Beautiful pinkish red against the green.

And then a useful map telling us where we were in this hugely massive park. So glad our tiny urban jungle has space set aside for green.
