Helsinki: Market Hall

Another must see is the lovely indoor market. It’s by the harbour and just beside market square where the open air make-shift type market was. Everything in one convenient location. And the best part was, it was walking distance from our hotel. So I would recommend Hotel Fabian for it’s location and will write more about it in another post.

There are a few little cafes within the market. We had the cheese with reindeer and fish soup here. Also pastry at the cafe which turned out to be cold. So I was not too impressed by the food but perhaps I did not pick the right things or it’s acquired taste and I don’t know how to appreciate them – yet.

The view of the harbour from the market, is lovely.

That reminds me of the Reading Terminal in Philly…same concept!

I really loved the Market in Boston….so much enticing food and especially the desserts, my head was spinning from all the choices.

Quincy Market/Fanueil Hall? Yeah, that’s a great place, especially when you have a lot of picky eaters 🙂 Everyone ends up happy there, even though it is a tourist trap (and it’s a favorite place of mine too, even though it’s often too crowded for me to go)

Oh yes. One day I must post my old photos. It was my favourite holiday of all time, even though I was just tagging along for a business trip and didn’t really get to see as much as I wanted. The snow made it all so magical. Felt like a kid all over again.

Cool pictures of Helsinki market. I always want to visit Finland since I first saw pictures of Finland in a maagzine as a child.
