Even during our rainy months we’re never short of blue skies. Only realized this after experiencing a Northern European winter where the sun is completely blocked out by a blanket of clouds. That was cool too. Especially the no heat part.

It’s funny because it’s such a grass is greener thing for me. I miss the cool, dim days of winter (although we also have our share of bright days, made very glare-ey by the sunshine reflecting off the snow and blinding you–I probably need my sunglasses more driving in winter in Boston than I’ve ever used them here in SG). But living through those winters, many people experience SAD (seasonal affective disorder) where the super short days and the grey/dark weather make you more likely to be depressed.
I think I miss cool temperatures, but not the super short days (sunset at 4) or the feet of snow to shovel. Hong Kong last February was perfect…if I lived somewhere where it got that cold for a few months but never colder, I’d be happy. (I think it was like in the teens)
For me it’s grass is greener too. I find everything completely opposite from what I have……enticing. Just to be honest kinda bored of the lack of change..and really tired of all the sweating. Although I am glad our temperatures don’t go past 37….at least for now. My ideal is in the teens and below. Never experienced SAD before or being blinded by light reflected off the snow. Closest thing is being blinded by light reflected off the water in a pool.
