I really like the new 112 Katong mall. It’s cosy and the theatre beckons. I also love J-Mart, the Japanese grocery store. The packaging is just lovely and I feel spoiled for choice.
We got a yogurt drink and don’t you just love the packaging and combination of colours? I do.
So pretty in pink, but expensive so I’ll just admire the beautiful packaging.
There’s an actual Sakura flower in these bottles.
I like visiting the Gund Store. The toys are so incredibly soft like this cute hedgehog.
Wanted to try the new Italian restaurant Baci, but only sandwiches and salad were being served, as they are not fully in operation yet.
Another food choice fail at Food Republic, although I do like the ventilation here. The last time I had a crappy Laksa and this time the Wan Tan Mee famed to be from Old Airport Road, just didn’t do it for me. I think it’s hard for them to replicate the quality.
Love the cool mosaic floor tiles. I also noticed plush carpeting on one of the floors where the Cortina watch outlet is. I hardly see plush carpeting in a mall and that was nice.
Perhaps I should have gone for the Teochew Fishball noodles which had the longest queue.
The problem with Gloria Jean’s is it’s location. It’s near the automatic doors which open often and let the oven like hot air in. On the other side you get fried food smells which is not too pleasant when you’re having a coffee. There are good seats but they were all taken.
I love the carpets too. Strange as it might seem I find it a real novelty when I get the chance to walk on carpet in Singapore!
I only now realized that when I noticed that walking felt awfully luxurious on one of the floors, and then I looked down. I think even hotel lobbies are not carpeted perhaps due to our humid weather.
Hi and thanks for the article. Can share with me the name of the gund store? Dun seem to find it in the mall’s directory. 🙂 thank you.
glad it was useful. I think the store that sells Gund toys is Toy Outpost at level 3. I know it’s just across from the store called Khul.
Thanks book junkie. Happy 2012. I shall go hunt for the lovely porcupine.
thanks for reading HT….hope 2012 treats you well 🙂
