Chinese New Year 2012: Toa Payoh Hub

Wanted to check out the Chinese New Year Buzz in the heartlands. Instead of the usual dragon we noticed goldfish instead. In the day time the estate gets very hot, but at night it’s nice cool and breezy. Want a totally unique iPhone cover below S$15. Saw one with a picture of Steve Jobs holding an iPhone, on it. But didn’t dare take a photo. I assume most of the products here are copies?

Thought these decorative paper goldfish were cool and pretty realistic. Loved how the fins moved delicately in the breeze.

So crowded I could only get a peek of the lions. Wonder when we’ll see the dragon dances that I use to see as a kid. Those really blew me away.

There’s supposed to be a fair here, but only two stalls were up.

Last minute shopping for new clothes. I’d suggest a dragon T shirt for the kids.
