Conflicted

I must sound so extreme. Sometimes my blog is filled with happy go lucky posts where I seem to be having the time of my life. And at other times I feel guilty for what must seem like – whining. But then I guess most people go through similar ups and downs. I really do appreciate the good times, but we all need a outlet to vent. And I am always drawn towards bloggers who are honest about how they feel.

Here are some very heartfelt posts I was thankful had been written. In my opinion these writers are brave women, and I felt I gained by having a little window into their worlds. When I imagine them, they seem so much like the few nice people I have had in my life over the years – the angel colleagues, for instance.

But there are always negative people online who want to bring you down. Like in Lady J’s case, where she is not even allowed to express her emotions, causing her to have to protect her blog entries. I think it’s a pity that she’s been bullied this way.

In my own case, if there are hateful comments I have no qualms deleting them. But I understand Lady J – words can really hurt and the imprint they have made on your mind – hard to erase. They lead to those niggling doubts.

I guess you could even go further and block them from your site. It’s my blog space and my home on the internet. You can shut the door on people that bring you down. Your home is supposed to be your haven after all. But luckily I have met many more lovely people than nasty ones. Not just these 4 lovely ladies, many more readers and writers in the blog world, as well as on twitter and instagram. And I relish these interactions even as I become more reclusive in real life.

I adore blogs where people let me see them – it doesn’t matter whether it’s anonymously or not, you can always tell whether it’s a real person. There’s nothing more interesting (I was going to write beautiful, but that sounds trite – I really honestly mean interesting) than the thoughts and feelings of another person.

Of course, I enjoy blogs where I recognize the emotions and thoughts (love the link to Yannisms!). But blog posts that show me another side of a person, a way of thinking and feeling that’s not wired into myself open up my mind and introduce me to new views and perceptions. If someone is able to write about their feelings and emotions in such a way that I am able to understand even though it is not necessarily something I would experience myself, that someone has a true gift for writing.

You are such a person and you expand my world. Thank you.

Katrjin you are so sweet. Thank you.

I feel so happy that you feel that you can see the real person just through these words I type online. Mostly from my heart. Usually when I want to unburden myself. Just hope it helps someone out there feeling a bit down for similar reasons.

I love how your put it – your blog & comments expand my world too 🙂

I wish I didn’t have to do what I did… making some of my posts on topics private but the decision that I made puts me at ease. I often feel that life is a roller-coaster, there are ups and there are downs, and that’s what make life interesting – don’t you think? 😉 So feel free to rant/rave/whine away on your personal space.. I’ll be your ‘angel colleague’ and root you on!

Aww thank you so much dear 🙂 you really are.

you should totally do what makes you most comfortable and happy..it’s akin to putting up an alarm system in your house 😉 let’s prevent those people of robbing you of any happiness and spoiling your day.

I just feel mad at people who judge others when they don’t really know the whole picture. It’s presumptuous.

Not sure if this make sense here.

Recently, I knew of quite a number of MNCs that went ballistic with checking up their employee’s Facebook details and posts and some of my friends even got warned and many now started to refrain from posting anything mildly related to work. They were just ranting around certain people and things that they did on their FB timeline and got into trouble.

That really sucks. Luckily they haven’t got to twitter yet. I kinda gave up on Facebook some years ago because I didn’t like how they keep changing their privacy settings etc.

    Thank you for the link.

I think that people by our very nature are complex and slightly volatile. I certainly have days where I love everyone and everythign and rainbows and unicorns and glitter…..and I have days where all I want is to hide under my covers and everyone sucks and it’s all awful.

I haven’t password protected any entries, but I have on occasion just chosen to block comments.

Good to know that I’m not the only one who blocks comments. I especially block comments which might hurt the feelings of other readers. I want this to be a safe place.
