I Checked out the new Franc Franc Furniture Store at Vivo City

My first impression of Franc Franc. Wow those are the biggest chairs ever. Wonder what it would be like to sit in one. Probably pretty awesome and I would have that Alice in Wonderland feeling.

After looking around I was not that impressed. Maybe I expected a Japanese brand to be of top notch quality and these seemed a little shabby. Guess I was also expecting a lot more after the hype and the seemingly long wait for the store to finally open. It’s a bit like a Japanese version of Ikea. Like a Uniqlo but with furniture instead. There were some items in there that I would have liked to look at some more, but we were in a hurry. There’s always next time and there’s another branch at JCube so I will definitely have a chance to check it out again. Meanwhile, this is what I saw and I’ll point out the stuff I quite liked.

I kinda liked the fake flowers and I usually don’t like fake flowers.

Pink! I don’t like all shades of pink though.  Some are quite yucky.  And no matter how much I try to teach B about shades of pink I don’t like he still hasn’t got it. But he’s probably not that bothered about it and probably not listening.

The sparkly little trinkets caught my eye too. Well, who can resist sparkly things?

So hard to resist, but if I get these it would be just more little boxes I don’t know what to do with.

I think this would be great for a new Cafe. So many lovely decorative items. But these days it’s all about vintage decor.

These simple white cups and mugs greatly appealed to me. But a small cup at S$12 was a tad expensive. Ikea has better prices.

B liked the S$40 tea set. The tea pot had a strainer too. But I prefer plain designs unless it’s a sweet floral print. The pot had Micky Mouse prints on it and came in blue and red too. Shucks – no pink? Made me wonder if these are from Tokyo Disneyland or a collaboration?

I wonder if these are smoke free candles. I got cheap but pretty candles from Ikea and they smoked so much, it made me have a coughing fit.

Somehow just looking at candles makes me feel relaxed. Maybe because it reminds me of a spa?

These scented oils came with white paper flowers which absorb the perfume and change colours.

Sorry, but I still think Ikea has a superior print collection.

Were you at the pre-opening too? 🙂

Where is Franc Franc located in Vivo?

It’s where the Page One Bookstore used to be, on the 3rd level. Pretty near where the cinemas and Carl’s Junior is I think.
