My second visit to Wild Honey at Scotts Square, and boring me had pancakes and bacon again. I wish I could have ordered scrambled eggs and a brioche as a side order. You can order bacon as a side though. Also 3 pancakes was way too much and perhaps we could have ordered different things to share. The Bacon and Pancakes are the Canadian breakfast which both cousin R & I ordered. Cousin D went for the Caribbean breakfast which had waffles and she liked it a lot.
The only thing that marred the experience was feeling pressured to leave when we were presented the bill and told there was another reservation for the table when there were tables around us empty and no queue outside the restaurant. We would not have minded if they told us this when we were first seated. By doing it this way we felt they were chasing us away and it wasn’t a good feeling. Other than that, the other wait staff were polite and attentive. Perhaps that one wait staff was asked to turn around tables fast? I really don’t know. We were there for an hour and a half, on a weekday, and I guess that was too long? My cousin commented that in other countries they don’t turn around tables this fast and you’re meant to not rush through your food. It’s considered rude to clear the table quickly when you’ve not finished and I see this happening quite a bit in Singapore. I read on other blogs about people being unsatisfied with the service, but that they would return because the food quality and ambience was nice. I have to agree there. In spite of this, I will return. I just hope that service improves with all the feedback taken into consideration.
Anyway here are the pictures and perhaps you’ll understand why I will return. Everything on the menu is just so tempting and there are few other places that do the all day breakfast this well.
The pancakes were so thick it was hard to finish them. I would still say the best pancakes I’ve ever had were in the US, but these were the best I’ve had in Singapore. Well they were even better ones when Singapore had a Denny’s outlet in Holland V. Sadly no more.
A peek at the menu.
