You Huak Restaurant in Sembawang: Best White Bee Hoon in Singapore

This is definitely the best white bee hoon I’ve had in Singapore although I don’t think I would queue and wait up to 2 hours for it. The queue is constantly winding and the people in the queue are so patient like my aunt and cousin who queued up for all of us in the terribly humidity and heat. Out of all the items we had here, all of them were great but the white bee hoon was clearly the star. It has a rich smoky wok taste that leaves you wanting more. Felt like they added brandy or something but it’s probably Chinese wine. B hasn’t tried this yet and now he’s very tempted after I went on and on about it. But I’m kinda dreading the queue which my photos don’t quite capture. Not only do you have to queue to place your order and even get a table, you then have to wait ages more for your food. Definitely do not embark on this escapade hungry. But on the bright side it’s freshly prepared and probably why it tastes so divine. Also, note to self – avoid Wednesday as this famous coffee-shop is closed then.

We had better chicken wings at the coffee shop across the road from this one.

When it’s crowded there is no place to park your car either. Quite a hassle. You probably have to park in the residential estate or at Sembawang Shopping Centre which is just across the road, and walk. My mum and I like to walk before and after a meal to aid digestion. Always helps in not feeling so bloated. Do you do the same?

And seriously this ball of orange is the setting sun. A warning to me that the haze is back but it sure was pretty. Much prettier than what my poor photo taking skills show.

If you don’t want to wait too long, weekdays are better like monday and tuesday. We went there for a late lunch on a monday and no queuing up at all.

Hi there, great post! do you know how the crowd is like on a weekday evening/night, like Tuesday?

      Thanks Shaun.

I hear that it’s not as bad on the weekdays, but mostly before the peak hours. I think dinner time would still see the crowds.
