Gardens by the Bay: Verandah

Ok I think this will be my last post about the new attraction (unless I visit again), and this time about our lunch at Verandah. The tastefully decorated bistro serves Asian cuisine and is very near the entrance of Gardens. On second thought I should have just had a sandwich at Super Tree Dining although the ambience here was much nicer.

The lunch was crappy considering the price, but we both liked the decor. I opted for curry chicken but it was so oily. It was Indian style curry which came with one, not that crispy, appalam (papadum) and achar (dry vegetable chutney which was tasty as it’s out of a bottle probably). I could have chosen prata instead of rice, but I hate frozen prata with a passion and I suspected it would be frozen prata. B’s herbal chicken was ok I guess.  My coffee was ok too but not great. I suspect made using a Nespresso machine.

We headed for lunch early as it started to pour. And we chose this place as we didn’t have to wait for a seat. Surprisingly even though the place looked crowded. Guess we got lucky. And I must say the lady in her sixties I’m guessing, who greeted us was very nice, polite and warm. Hope the place pays these retirees well. There was another young male server in blue who was very polite as well. I really do appreciate good service which made up for the crappy food.

A peek at the menu and prices.

Hate to waste my calories on unhealthy food that is not tasty.

B seemed to kinda like this.
