Wish the quality of the food was as good as the decor here. The cannoli was soggy and the filling too sweet. The hot chocolate was too cloying as well, and I prefer my hot chocolate made with real semi sweet or even bitter chocolate. The decor is just so inviting and I especially love the monochromatic tiles on the floor and the marble tables. How I wish the place had table service but I guess it’s hard as you need to look at all the items on display for the day. I was also charged extra for something I didn’t order, so it added to a disappointing second visit here. I guess stick to the macarons?
The breakfast set might be good though.
Absolutely loved the glossy tiles on the floor.
I went there too. Just that I haven’t blogged about it yet. Nothing fantastic there and I got stopped from taking photos.
Oh no. I hate it when that happens. I think it’s not progressive of them at all since there are so many bloggers out there who usually just want to promote the place for free. And even when there’s critique there is always room to be better and better. It’s better than feedback from any survey form that is shoved at you, usually at hotels (that never works).
I wanted to blog about being stopped from taking photos. Biggest blogging hazard. There’s a polite way and a rude way I think. The rude way makes me never want to visit the establishment again. They lost a customer and I was only gonna write nice things anyway.
Luckily I wasn’t stopped at all at Brunetti and I did it quite openly. But yeah I have to be honest and I have seen other establishments which started off shaky but got stronger after they made continuous improvements in response to people online.
Ahh. I hate it when I get stopped too. Do blog about it. Sometimes I just wanna recommend the place!
Yeah me too….it’s especially makes me mad when our intentions were good and we liked the place a lot and just wanted more people to know about it. Somehow I feel like they think we are spies or something. From rival stores?? Have no clue.
I don’t mind if I’m told nicely though but often it’s just plain rude.
Yup, I agree. the decor does remind me of when I was in Rome but the cannoli cannot make it lah. It’s like they took the custard filings from beard papa and stuff it into the cannoli. 🙁
So true Mel…the outer casing was not crisp as I was expecting it to be. Wonder if it was left on the shelf for ages. And I daresay the Beard Papa custard filling is much yummier.
Their cake display really attracted me, and I almost wanted to enter, but it was dinner time and they only have a few mains.
They have one of the most attractive displays 🙂 but I also wonder how fresh everything is.
Just did my blog entry on Brunetti here: http://www.coffeeluvs.blogspot.sg/2012/08/review-brunetti.html#links
