The Providore at Mandarin Gallery

It’s always fun to try out brand new places and especially when you have great company. I must say firstly that this place reminds me of Jones the Grocer. It was very pleasant to sit here and chat.  The decor is lovely with lot’s of light coming through. It’s easy to find too. Just take the external ground level escalator to the second floor and it’s right there.

The coffee here is something I would have again. Very smooth and no need to add any sugar as there was zero bitterness. I opted for the flat white this time.

I was so tempted to buy the teapot after trying out the Rose Earl Grey tea.  The tea was all right, but it was the tea pot and cup that really caught my fancy.

This is the first time I’m trying out a sampler plate and it was refreshing. D always makes me feel more adventurous than I normally am. I usually always go for the same old thing like pasta or pie. For once I didn’t feel bloated after a meal and there was room for the most important thing – dessert.  I was looking out for cupcakes but they didn’t have any and the cake slices were just too huge so we opted for scones and the almond crossiant to share.

Providore looks promising, just like a cafe I would love to visit. But the prices don’t seem friendly. $8.50 for an iced tea. Urg….

The scone looks good! Will try to pop in one of these days to try them, I’ve been having a scone craving lately and was disappointed somewhere else.
