Painting: Lee Kuan Yew

Captivating images at Ode to Art spotted at Raffles City that made everyone passing by turn their heads. I read that it’s by an artist from China, Ren Zhenyu and the one in the window, oil on canvas, is marked as sold.  Online, another painting of Lee Kuan Yew smiling fetched a price of $15,000-20,000. I wonder if the Gallery just decided to keep this one for themselves (smart move if they did).

This was my least favourite – doesn’t capture his likeness in the least.

I like the young black and white painting best. I guess because I like seeing people in their prime.
