Haron Satay: Tasty But A Teeny Bit Too Sweet
A pleasant night at East Coast Lagoon Food Village (hawker centre) which we headed to fix our satay craving. Only downer is touting here (stall owners swarming and calling out to you) as it’s a tourist attraction I guess. Haron … Continue reading

Beach Day
While awaiting the renovation completion at East Coast beach we headed to the section that’s still open near the hawker centre. Grateful for cloud cover protecting us from the direct heat.

#13. Fried Fish Soup
Not as healthy as sliced fish soup, but my favourite relatively healthy, low carb, hawker meal of all time. Fried fish soup with milk added to the broth, from Airport Road hawker centre. I love the silky tofu and the … Continue reading

Tiong Bahru Hawker Centre
The design of the Tiong Bahru Food centre is pretty unique, but your car will get cooked at the rooftop parking lot if you linger for too long. Eat and dash. This time around I was not impressed by the … Continue reading

Old Airport Road Hawker Centre: Rojak, Goreng Pisang & Peanut Pancake
The rojak here is famous and I think it’s the best. Aunty Oats peanut pancake is wonderful especially when it’s freshly made, hot and toasty. Another stall with Aunty in it’s name. I definitely see a trend here. Aunty equates … Continue reading

Lao Ban Soya Beancurd (Old Airport Road Hawker Centre)
Heard quite a bit about this beancurd which is more like chilled custard than beancurd. But when the first spoonful hit my tastebuds it brought back the beancurd I had as a little child for breakfast. It was reminiscent of … Continue reading

Evil Bunny Videos: Funny Singapore Cartoons (Satire)
Brilliant satire and I wish there was more. For me nothing beats Singlish when it comes to humour. This one is a classic – touched on the choping seats with tissue packets situation. And this one makes me glad I … Continue reading

Curry Rice at the Maxwell Road Food Centre
High up on the branch I thought they looked like rambutans, but a close-up shot shows that they are not hairy. So what are these? Spotted the palm tree near the entrance of the Maxwell Road Food Centre. Just across … Continue reading
