My Village: Little Wimbly Lu

Not much space to sit here and wish they took up 2 units instead (but yes it wouldn’t be called little then). The iced earl grey tea was refreshing but B found the green tea latte too sweet. Lovely decor … Continue reading

My Village: Duke Bakery

Duke Bakery has opened a branch at My Village. The breads here are tasty but expensive. Not as good as Maison Kayser in terms of moist chewiness but better than most other similar type bread shops.

Joy, Love, Hope

The Christmas decorations at My Village spoke to me. It’s lovely how this tiny mall always tries to be a bit different from the pack. The result is always charming. Instead of carolling there was a performance with bells that … Continue reading

CNY2013: My Village has the Prettiest Chinese New Year Decorations

I just love the pink flowers and the sparkly lights. This mall always has a bit of class. I think the fact that it is owned by two brothers (twins I believe) and not a huge corporation makes a huge … Continue reading

My Village: The Japanese Food was Pretty Good at Shin Kushiya

I would come to Shin Kushiya again although the prices are a tad steep. The Pumpkin Croquette I picked, is not the healthiest thing but so yummy. Happy that we were given a huge cosy booth seat. A peek at … Continue reading

Macarons at NTUC Finest & The Icing Room

I was surprised to find Macarons at NTUC Finest at My Village. But the meat section? Ok gourmet meat section. But isn’t that quite inappropriate? Makes the macaron totally loose it’s sophistication, or should I say, snob appeal. On the … Continue reading

Why I think My Village is Awesome: The Charming Mall in Serangoon Gardens

Unlike other malls there’s no huge developer behind the aptly named My Village, just twin brothers who own the building and are passionate about it having grown up in the estate.  It’s small size makes it cosy.  The only drawback … Continue reading

Old Hong Kong Taste at My Village (Serangoon Gardens)

At first I thought the service was lacking, but they might have been busy due to the Chinese New Year Corporate lunches.  There was a plump older Singaporean aunty who was bringing the Dim Sum around and she tried so … Continue reading
