Awesome Singaporean Lady who Tasted Hail
The 44 year old Singaporean lady who tasted the hail, totally made my day. She’s truly the bright spark amidst this haze crisis. Something infectious about her enthusiasm. Hope she becomes famous and gets advertising endorsements. Children don’t try this … Continue reading

Is It Wrong that I Still Call Myself Girl?
Warning: rambling post ahead….. I feel embarrassed when I refer to myself as ‘girl’ in online descriptions (and in my head). Gal seems more acceptable somehow. I am not sophisticated enough to be ‘lady’ or wise enough to be ‘woman’. … Continue reading
Awesome Sculptures at ION: Frangipani & Bendy Woman
Not only is the ION structure gorgeous, I also adore the art installations that motorists can see from the road, because they are so huge. Just discovered that they are part of a series called Art Beyond Limits and will … Continue reading

The Esplanade from Marina Square Shopping Centre

AMG on Expat life: Why I chose Singapore?
A young lady from Eastern Europe tells us why she chose to come to Singapore. Just to add another perspective to things. She has a YouTube channel called AngMoGirl and she blogs too. I do like her accent.

China: Jilted Bride Attempts to Leap from Building
I hope the Chinese authorities treat her with compassion. The poor girl looks utterly distraught. The pain must have overwhelmed her in that moment. You can read the full article at the Daily Mail. Even more shocking, when you watch … Continue reading
The Sexist Interview: Young Helen Mirren
Helen Mirren was extremely poised, intelligent and witty, even then. It’s a fascinating interview, although sexist in some bits. I agree that school can be oppressive with all it’s rules and lack of liberty. At least in Singapore and in … Continue reading

Singapore is becoming the Playground for the Rich: The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands
Opera Gallery with an beautiful vintage black and white print of a woman’s form. My first instinct is, having your butt exposed doesn’t look very comfortable, and I want to cover her up. It is an undeniably sensual portrait. Love … Continue reading

I think Facebook is Impersonal: Anti-social media? (via Newspaper to New Media)
This affirms why I quit Facebook and I just had to reblog this excellent post. You’ve just got to watch the video of the woman in the glass house (an incredible social experiment) who is just fed up with what … Continue reading

40 Seemed Old Till I Read About Eugenie ‘Sweets’ Who Lived to 114
Now 40 seems positively infantile. I am quite sure I am not fit enough to live that long. Nor do I have the resources, so I don’t wish to. I am still impressed by centenarians (100 or older) and supercentenarians … Continue reading
