Glace Cakes from a Friend

Update: We shared the cakes and they were all so delectably good.  I would definitely get cakes from this little store the next time I’m there.  The photos don’t do them justice.  My favourite was the creme brulee cake which I think was filled with yummy custard.  It tasted a bit like a tart.  The cakes were extremely creamy, but light at the same time.

I did a little searching and found out this is a tart not a cake. This is definitely the creamiest tart I have ever had. This tart is called La France and it is $5.00 Singapore dollars. It is prepared by Chef Yamashita who came up with a special tart base- a pear half surrounded by crème brûlée and topped off with apricot jam.

The Cake Story

A very thoughtful friend whom I will nickname Lucy, dropped by with these lovely cakes from Glace, a popular Japanese pastry shop at Icon Village – aren’t we lucky? Don’t they look divine? I noticed a queue at this cake shop and have been meaning to try the cakes and this was a nice surprise. They look too good to eat just yet, don’t they?  The one that’s mint green is green tea tiramisu and Lucy says she loves it.  I am eyeing the caramel custardy looking one.  It actually looks a bit like creme brulee which I love.
