Popeyes Chicken Sandwich

Decided to have the chicken sandwich for a change and I must say it was yummy, although the photo with the badly cut lettuce sticking out doesn’t make it look too appetizing. The sandwich had a nice barbeque type of sauce in it. My only issue was that the bun was not warmed up.

My partner felt the quality of Popeyes fried chicken is falling as he found his chicken too oily. I had one piece, but I was ok with it. I guess it’s because I am the one with the unhealthy habits, so I probably won’t notice if there is slightly more oil. He explained that the chicken tasted over-fried and that causes it to soak up more oil.

If you’ve been to Popeyes recently I would love to know what you think. Is the chicken too oily? The branch we went to was in Ang Mo Kio and it got super crowded once it was closer to 7pm. People could not even get a seat and were hanging around. It doesn’t make for a good experience when there’s hovering so luckily we were there early.

I wonder if the standards are falling because they have expanded so quickly? I’ve not had Popeyes in a very long time. My 1st experience was in USA and it was wonderful. I tried it again in Singapore in 2004 but I thought the chicken was too dry.

I’ve never tried it in the US and would love to just to compare the difference in quality.
