Lunch Buffet at Rise (Marina Bay Sands Hotel) – Part 2 of 3

I know the rule everyone knows at buffets is not to fill up on bread, but it’s the one thing I just can’t resist. The breads here looked exceptionally good. Especially with real French salted butter provided. There was the unsalted kind provided as well. Again superb attention to the little things which has made this one of my best buffet lunch experiences. Not only was there a lot of variety, the quality was much better than what I’ve had at other similar buffets for instance the one at The Line at Shangri-la.

There were also breadsticks and all kinds of dips including hummus, sun dried tomatoes and pesto.

Out of all the savoury items, the tender lamb curry at the Indian station stood out. The Dhall was lovely too. There’s briyani and prata which was a little soggy.

I also loved the Sweet and Sour Fish at the Chinese station. My companion mentioned that the diced chicken was good too, but I was too stuffed by then to try it.

I am always glad to see sushi on the menu. I love wasabi but many people can’t take it as it rushes up your nose and into my brain and ‘explodes’ if you put on too much.

I don’t take oysters as I don’t like the slimy texture, but I regret not trying the steamed flower crab.

I didn’t quite like the risotto like thing. It was my first time trying this and is probably due to that.

Wish I had four stomaches like a cow. I missed out on so much. There was also a noodle station serving things like Laksa. I didn’t try any of the soups. I also was too stuffed to try the dim sum and western items like pasta. Well, actually I have 2 stomachs – one just for dessert! No matter how stuffed I am there is always room for dessert.

Just some random pictures of items on my plate. Tried to be neat, but often fail due to my greed.
