My List of Singapore Malls: Links to Shopping and Dining Directories

I have been meaning to create this list for some time, just for my own reference, but have been too lazy. Each time I want to find a directory I redo my google search. So this time I really buckled down to do this tedious task once and for all. All the links to official websites and directories of popular Singapore malls in one place.  If you’re living here or just stopping by this tiny island, I hope you find it useful.

You know how some malls seem uncannily alike. Well if you do a search, you’ll discover they are by the same developer. And the chain stories probably have an arrangement with the developer for a special rental rate if they have a store at each of the malls, Anyway that’s just my theory. I for the record, am a nature, high tea, coffee, sushi, ramen, spa and bookshop loving person. I hate shopping and would rather do it online. The exception would be shopping for furniture at Ikea. I recall then when I was a kid studying Geography and doing projects on Tourism, Singapore was often described in text books and travel guides as a Shopper’s Paradise.  Well I guess it really is.

My partner likes shopping a whole lot more than I do, so this post is for him. He always asks me where to go and even though we have been to almost every mall here, I am regularly stumped or get a brain freeze, because there are just too many out there and he doesn’t like going to the same ones. I would be happy to hang out at mainly Liang Court (which I heart) or Marina Bay Sands if it wasn’t so hard to get there and the parking wasn’t that crazy price.

So here’s my list of Singapore malls linked to their directories.  It’s so you can find out what there is to eat, or whether there’s a particular store you’re looking for that’s near your home. I will start with my favourite and they are on that list because they are clean, relatively small, empty, with spacious walkways.  Usually there’s a bookstore or coffee place drawing me there. Here goes:

My Top 10 Favourite Malls:

1. Liang Court
2. Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands
3. The Cathay (movies!)
4. West Coast Plaza
5. Central
6. Parco Marina Bay at Millenia Walk
7. VivoCity
8. Takashimaya at Ngee Ann City(Yay! Kinokuniya)
9. Tanglin Mall
10. ION Orchard

Other Malls I Like as Well, but just could not fit into the top 10:

Clarke Quay
Bugis Junction (Because Kinokuniya and Starbucks are here)
Orchard Central (Tullys)
313 Somerset
Wisma Atria
Raffles City
Parkway Parade Shopping Centre
Great World City
Sembawang Shopping Centre
Anchorpoint
Robertson Walk
Valley Point
The Centrepoint
Far East Square
Square 2
My Village
Nex
Paragon
Plaza Singapura

Ranked them according to my own whims and fancies. Also took into consideration the design of the mall and how crowded it gets. The more relaxed I feel at the place the higher it ranks. If a mall has a great bookstore or a particularly favourite dining place, it ranks high too. Not very scientific and highly subjective for sure. There are malls my partner or family like that I just don’t.

More Singapore Malls including those located away from town in the residential districts and outskirts:

Habour Front Centre
Tampines 1
Tampines Mall
Century Square
City Square (my cousin R’s favourite mall)
Pomo
Hougang Mall (the only thing I like here is Ichiban Sushi)
White Sands
Bedok Point
Yew Tee PointCauseway Point
Compass Point
North Point
Tiong Bahru Plaza
Junction 8

Anyway if you’re curious about the developers behind these malls here are the main ones:

1. Far East Organization
2. Asia Malls
3. Maple Tree
4. Fraser’s Centrepoint Malls
5. Capital Malls Asia
6. Lend Lease

Will add to this list as I come across new ones. I will also change the rankings and order according to the services I receive in the future. Hope it helps in some way when you just don’t know where to go or what the opening hours or parking charges are.
