Arab street had won my heart over. It’s about the loveliest place in Singapore. I had the yummiest pancakes (tasted like half pancakes and half crepe) at this very unique Swedish Halal Cafe at the fringe of Arab Street called Fika. It’s at the corner of Arab Street and Beach Road.
I adore the name of this pretty little cafe as well. In Swedish Fika means to drink coffee. It also refers to having a break, usually a coffee break.
There seems to be a party for tots as many parents were bring their cute kids upstairs. On the Fika facebook page I found out that you can book the entire upper level for a party for S$2800.
Aren’t the lampshades so pretty, and also that blackboard menu against all the white. I would have a blackboard at home. A huge blackboard wall in the kitchen if only the chalk didn’t make my nose itch. It adds such a warmth to any space.
The wait staff here were so polite and welcoming. I like a place which is not atas and they make you feel right at home.
I love it when my pancakes are dusted with icing sugar. So pretty.
B had the breakfast set. Don’t the eggs look so good?
We had some warm bread as well.
And tea.
More of the gorgeous Nordic decor.
Saw some tourists sitting on the outside, al fresco style. I would do it if the temperature would drop by at least 12 degrees. It was about 34 degrees at least that day. Even with the fans, it would be just moving the hot air around. I have a preference for both the fan and air-conditioning. I would melt otherwise.

Read the Hungry Epicurean for a review of the meatballs. I also loved the photos at Memoirs of Food.

Your food photos are mouth watering! What a beautiful cafe you have in Singapore!! I love the look of white with other white pieces. So lovely!! The breakfast plate looks so yummy!
Thanks Kaho….I tend to love Nordic designs with all the white. Makes me feel serene and super relaxed somehow.
Love that place! And your pictures are making me so hungry!
I love pretty places like this where the food is good too 🙂
Wow, yummy pancakes! 🙂
They was so much that I struggled to finish them
I happen to love pancakes so I wish I could have some right now
happy to tempt you 🙂
Wow! I really love the white decor of the place. Another place to check out! 🙂
I am attracted to all white nordic designs as well.
I love the nordic decor, or shall I say minimalistic? Didn’t know that Fika actually had such a lovely meaning behind it. I did feel the food was a tad pricy though.
yeah we felt that about the prices too. But the pancakes were so huge I couldn’t finish them.
Mmmmm! These look like the Swedish Pancakes with Lingonberries that we make at home. It’s one of my favorite breakfasts.
I am sure the ones you make are yummier 🙂
