There are these cool stamping machines and you’re given a coloured chart to stamp away. Not just any stamp, but a cool emboss. Ok, I confess, even adults may get a small thrill from it. It’s educational too. Like in these first two photos, the design of the Peranakan brooch called the kerosang is so pretty. Great souvenir for kids and tourists alike. It can go into your holiday album or pretty scrapbook.
And here we have the awesome phoenix and which Harry Potter adoring kid wouldn’t be thrilled by the mythical.
I think this is what they call a blind emboss, something that’s used as part of fancy stationary in the past. Technically it’s a raised image the same colour as the paper. I recently read about this in a Peter Mayle book which always has beautiful little details of fine living in it.
There is free admission for the little ones aged 6 years and below. Students and teachers who are Singaporean or Permanent Residents get free admission too. Just remember to bring your ID.

Thanks Kristin 🙂
If the Peranakan Museum is a great place for kids to visit, I say this museum should be highly recommended as a top place for a school field trip for all schoolkids.
I am guessing that schools would probably organize field trips for kids since I have seen kids on field trips in Little India.
