My Trip to Stockholm & Helsinki: 7 Things I Loved & Will Miss

I love experiencing new things. Took advantage of the low season and went to Scandinavia during a period no one wants to go there. Basically it’s mostly dark and grey with just 6 hours of daylight from about 9am to … Continue reading

Furthest North I’ve Ever Been: Helsinki & Stockholm

This is the most last minute trip I have ever been on. Felt quite unprepared and the night before wanted to cancel, due to my claustrophobia. I had a major panic attack and it was quite scary. Thank goodness for … Continue reading

Just Back from a Spontaneous Trip

Sorry, I’ve been away for awhile. Went on a very last minute, spur of the moment trip. Will be writing all about it soon. Meanwhile I am catching up on reading all my favourite blogs – and that means you … Continue reading

I Absolutely Love Robin Williams & here he is on Ellen

I am quite sure my mum and aunts love him too. There is just something so sweet about Robin Williams. I have been watching him on TV since I was a kid. He was Mork then. And I was truly … Continue reading

Christmas Lights at Somerset 313

Seen some gaudy Christmas decorations, but at least these colours are quite pretty. Still, Christmas in Singapore is very, extremely commercialized.

Stunning: Elle & Dakota Fanning

I think 13 year old Elle and 17 year old Dakato Fanning are stunning in the W Magazine photo shoot. I love that they are grounded and both are brilliant actresses mature beyond their ages. It was interesting as these … Continue reading

Lemon Tart & Matcha Latte at Tea Dot (Nex)

Not the best lemon tart I guess, but I think it’s pretty good. Anyone know where I can get the best lemon tarts? I prefer these to chocolate sometimes. I like my desserts sour sweet.

Christmas Treats At Gourmet Cold Storage

I like to browse the selection at the Gourmet Cold Storage at Bukit Timah. They are already stocked for Christmas. Not exactly for Christmas but I found this drink interesting. Never had it before.

Sparkly ION

Didn’t purchase anything from these two places. Was just standing around waiting for someone and decided to snap. The camera keeps me from being bored. It’s a great companion.

My 6 Favourite Insanity Quotes

We should really break the stigma that comes with mental illness or just any kind of existence that doesn’t fit into what the establishment considers normal. Really, who is to say what exactly normal is. It’s very hard to define. … Continue reading

80’s Rock Ballads: Love of a Lifetime by Firehouse

I was a teen of the 80’s and I think there’s nothing sweeter than an 80’s rock ballad.  So many incredible ballads and it was all about the melodies.  The music video was deliciously cheesy but back then it was … Continue reading

Junction 8: Crystal Jade & NTUC Finest

Our default place to go for affordable but good Dim Sum is Crystal Jade. I find the service good and my tea or iced water is regularly topped up.  I really love the porridge, steamed BBQ pau and carrot cake … Continue reading

Shangri-la Hotel

To me Shangri-la Hotel kinda feels like home, because we used to organize several conferences here and I even stayed in the hotel once.  As a teen I always dreamt of working in a hotel as it seems so glamourous, … Continue reading

Gourmet Food & Drinks at ION’s Market Place

My cousins loves champagne so I was thinking about her when I was at the ION supermarket. Do certain things or places remind you of your loved ones? For me there are songs that trigger memories as well. I thought … Continue reading

Jams at ION

Another quiet place to escape for tea.  It’s the cafe within the bookstore called Prologue (the upscale version of Popular Store).  Not much in terms of service, but from the cafe, the view of Orchard Road is pretty awesome.

Christmas Goodies at Marks and Spenser

I still refer to Marks and Spenser by it’s old name – St Michael’s. I just can’t seem to switch. I think they do the best chocolates and biscuits, and at a reasonable price too. This musical box would make … Continue reading

Escaping the Vivo Crowds at the National Geographic Cafe

I thought the dimly lit National Geographic Cafe at Vivo was cosy, although they were out of many of the teas on the menu. I also liked the not very strong and milky Coffee, which surprised me. It seems like … Continue reading

Serangoon Garden Market: Best Satay & Mee Soto in Singapore

I have tried the satay at Glutton’s Bay, the East Coast Market, Lau Pa Sat and at many other places, but I think the one at Serangoon Garden Market beats them all. This stall used to be the famous one … Continue reading

Being a tourist in my own country, at Marina Bay Sands

Love taking random shots of things that interest me. It’s the only way to sustain my interest when I’m inside a mall. Although to be fair I think Marina Bay Sands has one of the nicest. The best part being … Continue reading

When this place first opened, we came here quite often.  Since then I realize I haven’t been back for quite a while.  Have always loved the Japanese take on western food and the country style decor here is just charming. … Continue reading
