Plant Based: Who Knew it Could Be so Yummy

I had never heard of plant based calamari before and did not expect it to taste so good and be as chewy as squid. The ambience at Little Farms Bar and Grill at Serangoon Gardens is pretty nice especially after … Continue reading

Toss & Turn: Healthy Option at Vivo City

There’s now a healthy option at Vivo City that is not too expensive. Wraps and salads and by the Cedele chain. I tend to go for the chicken wraps which were pretty tasty. Have eaten at this joint twice now.

Went Healthy with a Wrap from Smoothie King

Tried the BBQ chicken wrap this time. I’ve previously had the spicy chicken and the chicken caesar and would say the Chicken Caesar is the tastiest. Big issue with Smoothie King at Nex is that it is perpetually filled with … Continue reading

#13. Fried Fish Soup

Not as healthy as sliced fish soup, but my favourite relatively healthy, low carb, hawker meal of all time. Fried fish soup with milk added to the broth, from Airport Road hawker centre. I love the silky tofu and the … Continue reading

#12. Sliced Fish Soup at Old Airport Road Hawker Centre

This is definitely one healthy Singapore hawker meal that I find delicious, but it has to be from Old Airport Road.  I have to confess I prefer the fried fish meat version which is just a little bit unhealthier but … Continue reading

I have abandoned my list of healthy food I like and decided to take it up again. Trying to inspire myself and the folks around me. I like the idea of eating so that I feel better physically. Cleaner foods … Continue reading

#10. Crunchy Hard Bread

Had a relatively healthy dinner at home. I can’t exist without bread. I used to only like soft bread but I recently discovered that hard grainy bread is so much more satisfying.

#9. Deliciously Light and Healthy Vietnamese Wrap (Pho Hoa at Rasapura)

The girl behind the counter looked like she didn’t want to be there, but the wrap was good. It cost S$5.  I asked for a grilled chicken baugette but she glumly said “Don’t Have”. Oh well. Liked the sweet and … Continue reading

#7. Ravishing Raspberries

Raspberries are so lovely with yoghurt or just on their own. I think they are the prettiest of the berries. A lipstick in this shade would be just perfect. It’s a pity they are quite expensive in Singapore at almost … Continue reading

#6. Soya Bean Curd

I could have this for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  If there was a diet that called for only bean curd, I could do it.  Bean curd is a great source of protein and I ever go vegetarian this would be … Continue reading

#5. Mango-licious

This has to be among my top 5 favourite fruits.  It’s tropical and easily available in Singapore, which is great.  If you pay a little more you can get the really good ones from India.  Otherwise the honey ones from … Continue reading

#4. Mandarin Oranges

I love the slightly sourish sweet taste of these. Mandarin Oranges are a cinch to peel as well, which is great. They are also known as tangerines, which is a subgroup and most commonly available type of mandarin oranges. Here’s … Continue reading

I find that making this ‘Healthy Food I Like’ list is working. I’m now having a fruit a day, because my self awareness has been raised. I hope this lasts. The reason why I call it the sexy cherry is … Continue reading

#2. Blackberries – The Fruit

These are actually black but you can see the deep reddish hues, when you take a really close up shot of the berries. According to this article on UK Food Guide, I never knew that blackberries were the relatives of … Continue reading

To motivate myself in 2011, I’m gonna start a list of healthy food that I actually like. My new favourite snack is passion fruit. It’s wonderfully sourish sweet. You just cut the fruit in half and scoop the fruit out … Continue reading
