Malabar Chips: A Little Store in Cochin with the Best Banana Chips in the World

The most famous store in Cochin (city in Kerala, South India) is a little red stall called Malabar Chips. It’s proudly stated in pretty manuscript painted fonts, that they have no other branches. Our driver Suresh told us that people from the UK came from the airport and immediately asked to be taken to Malabar Chips. Once you try their banana chips you will understand. These are a better snack then potato chips and are not too sweet or oily like the ones you find in Singapore or Malaysia.  They also sell other Indian snacks like Acchu Murruku (rose water spiced deep fried snack) that are so yummy.  They are patterned like a flower and these are made using a mould dipped in very hot oil.  If you plan to buy loads of snacks for your family, they will pack them in a box for you so that you can check it in at the airport.

I googled them and they actually have an address and telephone number. Thought I’d put it here in case some rich investor would like to check them out and make them even more famous. Would be cool if they end up having branches in many countries.
