Home Made Pineapple Tarts

The best pineapple tarts that I can’t resist are the homemade ones and I was lucky enough to get loads to greedily nosh on.  Before this I was quite impressed among the store sold ones with the brand known as Glory. I used to always praise that brand, but now the homemade one has blown this out the water.  The difference is not only in the buttery tart that melts in you mouth, but also in the fact that it’s all real pineapple that has been prepared for hours and not pre-manufactured jam.  You’ll know cos when you eat a homemade one you can actually taste the pineapple including the strands. It’s all in the texture and it’s not too overly sweet like the store bought ones where they probably add more sugar to compensate. Glory seems to use a mix of jam and fresh pineapple, but it’s mostly the very sweet jam that you taste.  But I have tasted worse, very dry ones, among the cheaper brands.  I would always say go for quality rather than quantity.

Homemade pineapple tarts from a friend’s kitchen, that are extremely tempting and will wreck any diet or the strongest willpower.

Those look so good! I really wanted to make some this year but I have no time. Yes nothing beats home made. In fact, if you look at the back of the bottles of the store bought ones, you will often find names of ingredients that ought not to be in pineapple tarts, like trans fats and stuff. I read some where 5 cookies = 1 bowl of rice?
