Unlike other malls there’s no huge developer behind the aptly named My Village, just twin brothers who own the building and are passionate about it having grown up in the estate. It’s small size makes it cosy. The only drawback is that you need a car to get to Maju Avenue, as it’s not near any MRT station, but the advantage is the place doesn’t get too crowded. It’s located in the little residential estate of Serangoon Gardens which expats seem to love because of the French, Australian and American schools nearby.
I love the little personal touches I see around the mall. Unique and welcoming. Even their messages of caution are cute in red quote boxes. Love the personification. It’s like there’s this invisible host around.
It has the most lovely view on the rooftop as well. It may irrate home-owners nearby who have added tint to their windows for privacy, but you can’t deny that the view of the old red and brown roofs against the sky is lovely.
I also like that this place is full of F&B outlets where the service is welcoming and personal. I especially like Hong Kong Taste, Bakerzin, Udders, Subway and Coffee Bean. Bakerzin will have a new artisan bread section – I think a new concept for them. There’s a also new little restaurant, Relish by Wild Rocket, and a Ramen place called Daikokuya yet to be open.
There’s a little spa as well.
I like that the lifts have transparent doors. Makes me feel less claustrophobic.

These are the parking charges that might be a little higher than the public parking lots outside the mall. Free valet service comes into effect every weekday evening from 6 pm to 10.30 pm and weekends from 8 am to 10.30 pm.

Subsequent 30 min or part thereof: $ 0.64 (incl. GST)
